There is a particular kind of airport annoyance that begins with a dying phone and ends with you emptying an entire backpack for the cable you know is in there. Belkin’s new SureFind Loop Cable Tag tries to solve that problem while also helping you find the backpack.
The idea is almost suspiciously tidy. The SureFind is a Bluetooth item tracker with a built-in six-inch loop for attaching it to luggage, keys or a backpack. Unclip that loop and it becomes a short USB-C to USB-C cable.
Belkin introduced the device at $24.99, with availability beginning in September 2026. It supports Apple’s Find My network and Google’s Find Hub system, so the basic idea is not tied to one phone camp.
The loop earns its spot on the bag
Most item trackers become useful only after you buy a holder, ring or adhesive mount. Belkin builds the attachment into the product. The braided loop passes through a zipper pull, handle or key ring, and its connector housing closes the loop.
That same hardware gives the SureFind its best trick. The cable can charge the tag itself, but Belkin also says it can serve as an emergency charging cable for compatible USB-C devices. It is not another loose cord waiting to become a knot. It is already doing a job until the moment you need it.

The tracker covers the important basics
Belkin’s support documentation lists Bluetooth 5.3, a speaker rated at roughly 100 dB, left-behind alerts and remote location through the selected tracking network. When the item is nearby, the app can trigger a sound. When it is farther away, Apple’s or Google’s device network can update its mapped location.
There is an important distinction here. Belkin’s published support material describes Bluetooth proximity, map location and sound alerts. It does not list ultra-wideband direction finding for the Loop Cable Tag. Buyers should expect a map-and-beep tracker, not assume they will get a precision arrow pointing toward the exact couch cushion.
Six months between charges is the right kind of boring
Belkin rates the rechargeable battery for up to six months, depending on use. A full charge takes about 90 minutes, and an on/off control can preserve the battery when the tracker is stored between trips.
The tag carries an IPX5 water-resistance rating. That should cover splashes and rain, but IPX5 is not a promise that it can survive being submerged. This is luggage hardware, not dive gear.
The clever part creates the obvious compromise
Using the cable means opening the loop and removing it from whatever it was securing. During that time, the tracker is tracking the cable in your hand, not the bag that was wearing it. Yanko Design called out that tradeoff after handling the product at IFA 2026.
That is probably fine for a quick charge at an airport gate, especially when the bag is beside your feet. It is less appealing if the cable stays connected across a table while your luggage sits somewhere else.
Belkin’s public support pages do not specify the cable’s charging wattage or data-transfer rating. Until those figures are confirmed through documentation or testing, the honest way to think about it is as an emergency cable, not the only cable you pack for a laptop or handheld gaming system.
Who this makes sense for
- Frequent travelers: the loop belongs naturally on a carry-on, backpack or personal item.
- People with mixed phone households: the product supports the major Apple and Google tracking ecosystems.
- Minimalist packers: one small object handles attachment, tracking and occasional charging.
- Anyone tired of accessory accessories: no separate tracker case or key-ring holder is required.
Skip it if you need a submersible tracker, verified high-power charging or precision direction finding. Also skip it if you know the cable will spend all day plugged into a device, because then the bag loses the entire point of the attachment.
The SureFind Loop Cable Tag is not a wild invention. It is a better arrangement of three ordinary things. That is often the most useful kind of gear: a product that earns its place by removing one small piece of clutter.
